Can the Orioles make it four in a row?
That would be a first in 2026.
They’ve won three straight games six times this season and come up short. They go for the sweep today in Cincinnati after last night’s 8-5 victory that featured Samuel Basallo’s second home run in two nights.
A mostly right-handed lineup includes three-time All-Star Adley Rutschman behind the plate, Coby Mayo as designated hitter, Tyler O’Neill in right field, Leody Taveras in center and Jeremiah Jackson at second base. Basallo is on the bench.
Kyle Bradish starts today after posting an odd line against the Nationals with three earned runs and four total over four innings, with only one hit and five walks. He allowed one run in his two previous starts over 15 2/3 innings.
Bradish has one career start against the Reds, when he allowed two runs in five innings. Eugenio Suarez is 4-for-8 with a double.
Reds left-hander Nick Lodolo, the seventh-overall draft pick in 2019 out of TCU, has posted a 5.05 ERA in 10 starts. He began the season on the injured list with a blister on his left index finger.
Lodolo hasn’t allowed a run in his last two starts totaling nine innings. He’s faced the Orioles twice in his career and surrendered five runs with 13 strikeouts in 11 innings.
O’Neill is 2-for-5 with a double against Lodolo. Pete Alonso is 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.
The Reds are reeling right now with six losses in their last seven games and nine in their last 12.
