Minor league catcher Michael Ohlman has received a 50-game suspension after a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program for a drug of abuse.
The suspension of Ohlman, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds, will be effective immediately.
You’ll recall that Ohlman, 21, injured his shoulder in spring training in a vehicle accident. His truck flipped over and landed on its roof after a driver cut him off. He hasn’t been able to play.
Ohlman is the second Orioles minor league catcher to be suspended 50 games for a second violation of the drug and prevention treatment program for a drug of abuse. Single-A Frederick’s Brian Ward was suspended in spring training.
