The Orioles were shut out last night for the second time in four games but remained only 1 ½ back for final Wild Card.

Kyle Bradish must rebound from a difficult outing in Detroit, where he allowed five runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings. It broke a streak of three quality starts in a row.

Bradish has surrendered seven runs and 10 hits in 11 2/3 innings in two career starts against Philadelphia.

Dylan Beavers is leading off and playing left field. Taylor Ward is the designated hitter. Jackson Holliday is batting fifth for the first time in his major league career .

Christian Encarnacion-Strand starts again at third base. Leody Taveras is the right fielder and Colton Cowser is in center.

Right-hander Zack Wheeler is 10-3 with a 2.53 ERA and 0.922 WHIP in 17 starts. He’s struck out 123 batters in 103 innings.

Wheeler had a three-start stretch last month with three runs allowed in 20 innings, with two walks and 33 strikeouts. He lasted only three innings Monday in Miami and allowed five runs and six hits. He’s registered 12 quality starts.

Wheeler has made five career starts against the Orioles and posted a 4.18 ERA in 28 innings. He’s allowed nine runs and 14 hits in 9 1/3 innings in two appearances at Camden Yards.

Pete Alonso is 10-for-41 with two doubles and 13 strikeouts. Cowser is 2-for-2 with a home run.
