Down on the farm, Steve Johnson allowed one unearned run in eight innings today in Triple-A Norfolk’s 1-0 loss to Indianapolis. Johnson (1-3, 2.74 ERA) allowed three hits, walked one and struck out eight while giving the Tides their first complete game of the season. He threw 95 pitches, 68 for strikes.
Former Oriole Rick VandenHurk picked up the win for Indianapolis with five scoreless innings in relief.
