To make room for Bergesen on the 40-man roster, infielder Nick Johnson has been transferred to the 60-day DL.
Britton opened the season on the disabled list with a left shoulder impingement (placed on March 26). He was activated and optioned to Triple-A on June 6. In eight starts with the Tides, Britton went 4-1 with a 4.15 ERA (47.2IP, 22ER), including 7.0 shutout innings in his most recent start on July 12.
Bergesen has gone 4-3 with one save and a 4.03 ERA (80.1IP, 36ER) in 22 games (10 starts) with the Tides this season. He has pitched to a 2.89 ERA (28.0IP, 9ER) out of the bullpen, including a 2.35 mark (23.0IP, 6ER) in his last 10 appearances since June 9.
Socolovich made his major league debut on Saturday vs. Detroit after having his contract selected earlier in the day and pitched to a 9.00 ERA (4.0IP, 4ER) in two appearances with the Orioles.
Andino injured his shoulder diving for a ball in Sunday’s game vs. Detroit. He batted .230/.292/.325 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 79 games this season.
Johnson was placed on the disabled list with a right wrist injury on June 28.
