Current and former Orioles will host 80 second through fourth graders from Samuel F.B. Morse School as part of the 32nd Annual OriolesREACH Holiday Party for Kids next Tuesday, December 14, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Dave & Busters in the Arundel Mills Mall. The current Orioles, including newly acquired third baseman Mark Reynolds, who will be making his first trip to Baltimore as an Oriole, will be joined by former O’s Al Bumbry, Dave Johnson Scott McGregor, and Larry Sheets.
Players will serve lunch, play games with and sign autographs for the students, and McGregor will play Santa Claus and deliver new, unopened gifts donated by Orioles employees and the organization to each child. Students will play for free in the arcade room with the players.
Additionally, the Right Side Foundation, the personal charity of Nick and Christina Markakis, has made a financial contribution for the party and will provide a copy of the book The Polar Express for each child.
Samuel F.B. Morse is located at 424 S. Pulaski Street in Baltimore. Students were selected to attend based on a combination of attendance, good behavior, completion of assignments and adhering to the school dress code. This year’s event marks the 32nd year the Orioles have held a holiday party for children from economically disadvantaged areas in Baltimore. A different school is selected each year.
