The Orioles and Yankees are tied 3-3 in the fourth inning of Game two of this split doubleheader as the Orioles are looking for their first seven-game win streak since an eight-game streak from April 22 to May 1, 2005.
Brian Matusz entered tonight’s start with a record of 2-3 and ERA of 2.56 in five career starts against New York and a career mark of 4-3 and ERA of 2.49 in 10 career starts against New York and Boston.

This is Matusz’s third start since coming back from the minors. Over the first two, he gave up 12 runs and 16 hits over 10 2/3 innings against Oakland and Los Angeles.
Adam Jones has two sac flies in this game. He began today tied for first in the AL with 10 sac flies this season.
Ryan Adams had an RBI double in the second inning and has now hit safely in all seven games he has played since his latest recall from Triple-A. Adams is 9-for-23 with four doubles and three RBIs since rejoining the Orioles.
J.J. Hardy’s double in the third inning tonight extended his batting streak to 11 games. Hardy is now 3-for-39 on the season against the Yankees.
The Orioles are trying to hand Ivan Nova a rare loss tonight. The Yankees starter has lost just four times against 13 wins in 21 previous starts. He is 9-0 over his last ten starts dating to a June 3rd loss to the Angels.
