The Orioles could activate Teagarden from the disabled list after the All-Star break, which would remove backup Ronny Paulino from the 25-man roster.
Single-A Delmarva infielder Nicky Delmonico has been activated from the disabled list and will start tonight for the Shorebirds.
Delmonico, named Most Valuable Player of the South Atlantic League All-Star Game, hasn’t played since June 26.
Luis Exposito, recovering from surgery to remove a broken hamate bone in his right wrist, went 2-for-4 with an RBI today for the GCL Orioles.
Catcher Steel Russell, the son of Orioles bench coach John Russell, went 3-for-4 with his first professional RBI.
Triple-A Norfolk activated pitcher Steve Johnson, who was optioned Tuesday night. Johnson will start Sunday.
Pitcher Eric Beaulac was assigned to Single-A Frederick to make room for Johnson.
As for the Orioles, they could choose to play a man short tonight if they don’t need to place Chris Davis or Mark Reynolds on the disabled list. They have Dana Eveland available in long relief if starter Miguel Gonzalez makes an early exit.
The Orioles could call up infielder/outfielder Steve Tolleson tomorrow. Tolleson can’t be recalled earlier unless he’s replacing a player on the disabled list.
