I mentioned earlier that Scott Feldman is the 13th different starting pitcher used by the Orioles this season, exceeding last year’s total. The Orioles hadn’t used that many starters since 2008.
Feldman will be the 14th player to make his Orioles debut this season. We’re not counting left-hander Mike Belfiore, who was recalled without pitching in a game.
White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers is 5-for-7 lifetime against Feldman. Right fielder Alex Rios is 10-for-32 with two home runs.

Brian Roberts’ home run last night was his 17th batting right-handed, compared to 68 from the left side of the plate.
According to STATS, Chris Davis’ .721 slugging percentage is the fifth-highest in the American League prior to the All-Star break since 1933 (minimum 250 plate appearances). Davis trails Mark McGwire (1996, .796), Frank Thomas (1994, .795), Mickey Mantle (1956, .749) and Jimmie Foxx (1933, .744).
The Orioles lead the majors with a .992 fielding percentage. According to STATS, the club is on pace to post the highest percentage in franchise history, topping the .987 mark set in 2007.
The Orioles lead the majors with a .277 average, .463 slugging percentage and .789 OPS in road games this season. They’ve scored five runs or more in 26 road games, the most in the majors.
Left-handers Zach Britton and Jose Quintana take the mound Thursday afternoon in the series finale between the Orioles and White Sox. The Yankees are listing Ivan Nova, Andy Pettitte and Phil Hughes as the starters for the weekend series in the Bronx. The Orioles are countering with Miguel Gonzalez, Chris Tillman and Jason Hammel.
