FORT MYERS, Fla. – Caleb and Brooke Joseph are the proud parents of a baby boy, born at 6:40 p.m. last night.

Manager Buck Showalter said Joseph could rejoin the team on Monday.
The Orioles’ first round of cuts are coming on Monday, with more expected the next two days. Pitcher Dane De La Rosa is a candidate to be sent out while he recovers from knee surgery. He hasn’t pitched in an exhibition game.
“We knew coming in that he was going to be a little slow play,” Showalter said.
Wei-Yin Chen is starting Tuesday against the Yankees in Sarasota. Miguel Gonzalez and Drew Hutchison are the starters Wednesday when the Orioles host the Blue Jays, and Bud Norris is starting Thursday against the Cardinals in Jupiter.
The Orioles are hoping that Ubaldo Jimenez can go three innings today. He recorded only four outs in Tuesday’s exhibition opener against the Tigers in Lakeland.
Showalter said two players reported late today because they didn’t turn their clocks ahead an hour. He didn’t identify them to the media.
Delmon Young told Showalter that he’d like to get some innings in the outfield at the minor league complex. He’s starting today in right.
Jimmy Paredes is out of minor league options, and he would have to accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk. He’s trying to make the club in a utility role. He’s 3-for-7 with a double and has worked hard to improve his defense at third base.
“It would be different if he was just doing this in the spring, but we saw the same thing last year, too,” Showalter said. “Jimmy can swing the bat from both sides. He’s got great work habits. He wants it. He’s very hungry. Jimmy will do whatever and whenever. He’s better this year than he was last year.”
Today’s game is airing on MLB Network in the Baltimore area. It also can be heard on 105.7 The Fan.
