In case you forgot, reliever Jim Johnson was 1-1 with one save and a 6.52 ERA in 10 games with the Orioles before going on the disabled list and spending most of his days and nights in Sarasota.
Johnson threw two innings on Tuesday for Double-A Bowie, so he should be available tonight if the Orioles need him. They wouldn’t activate him this soon if he wasn’t ready.
The question is, how will they use him? Will he be eased back into major league competition or called upon late in a close…In case you forgot, reliever Jim Johnson was 1-1 with one save and a 6.52 ERA in 10 games with the Orioles before going on the disabled list and spending most of his days and nights in Sarasota.

Update: As expected, the Orioles transferred reliever Jason Berken to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Johnson on the 40-man roster.
Tonight’s starter, Brad Bergesen, has posted a 3.06 ERA in his last seven starts and has left six of those games leading or in a tie.
Bergesen has a 4.01 ERA in four starts on five days rest, and a 5.95 ERA in 13 starts on four days rest. He’s pitching on five days rest tonight.
I’m just saying…
The Orioles are 6-1 in the opening game of a series since Buck Showalter took over as manager. They were 9-25 in series openers prior to his arrival.
The Orioles are 10-4 in their last 14 games against the AL West, and 15-17 overall. The 15 wins are the most against any AL division this year. They’ve won 12 games against the Central and 11 vs. the East.
The Orioles today extended their working agreement with short-season Single-A Aberdeen through the 2014 season. They now have agreements through 2014 with Triple-A Norfolk, Bowie, Single-A Frederick, Single-A Delmarva and Aberdeen.
