The Denver Post’s Troy Renck reports that Garrett Atkins’ one-year deal with the Orioles guarantees him $4.5 million (including a $500,000 buyout) and includes an $8.5 million club option for 2011.
Atkins also can make an addtional $500,000 in plate appearance bonuses.
All that’s left is for Atkins to pass his physical and the Orioles to make the deal official by admitting to it.

I’m still trying to find out whether the Orioles’ physicians are done studying Erik Bedard’s medical records. Depending on who you believe, he’ll either be ready to pitch later in April or sometime during the second half. The Orioles will make their own determination.
The Mariners retain interest, from what I’ve heard, and they’re keeping tabs on him.
Forgot to mention, if you missed it or care, that Adam Lind won the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award. Hideki Matsui placed second and David Ortiz third.
You’ll recall that Aubrey Huff won it last year.
The Yankees and Red Sox will open the 2010 season on Sunday, April 4, with an 8 p.m. game on ESPN2.
The Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards is offering unique throwback merchandise associated with a number of teams from Baltimore’s sports heritage.
Now available at the museum store, or the website BRMStore.org, are vintage T-shirts or sweatshirts from the Baltimore Colts (AAFL 1947-29, NFL 1950); Baltimore Hustlers (ABA 1975); Baltimore Stars (USFL 1985); and Baltimore Terrapins (Federal Baseball League 1913). Items retail from $15 to $45, depending on the team and article of clothing.
Anybody know where I can get a Baltimore Claws warm up suit?
