Tommy Hunter, coming off an outing where he gave up just one run and three hits over six innings versus Toronto, held Oakland off the board on four singles through the first four innings this afternoon.

Tommy Hunter, coming off an outing where he gave up just one run and three hits over six innings versus Toronto, held Oakland off the board on four singles through the first four innings this afternoon.

Hunter entered this start with a career mark of 5-0 and 4.28 ERA in eight career games (six starts) against the A’s. In nine career starts at Camden Yards, Hunter is 5-1 with a 3.49 ERA.

Orioles pitching has an ERA of just 1.47, allowing two runs or less in five of the last six games. Over those six games, O’s starters have pitched to an ERA of 1.66 with five quality starts.

When an O’s pitcher has recorded a quality start this season, the club is 10-0.

The Orioles began today ranked third in the American League in team ERA at 3.11 and first in the majors in bullpen ERA at 1.96.

The Orioles today are looking to go six games over .500 for the first time since July 20, 2005 when they were 50-44. The Orioles are 15-31 at home against Oakland since the start of the 2001 season.

Bundy note: Before today’s game, Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette indicated that Dylan Bundy is likely to stay with Single-A Delmarva at least through five more starts. Bundy is expected to go four innings in his next two starts and then move to five-inning outings. Duquette said Bundy is expected to remain a Shorebird at least through his first three five-inning outings.

Bundy’s next outing is set for tomorrow night in Salisbury at 7:05 p.m., when the Shorebirds host Asheville.
