It appears that first baseman Carlos Delgado could begin playing in Puerto Rico this weekend, which would give the Orioles a chance to scout him. Outfielder Lou Montanez is batting .324 with 10 doubles, one triple, three homers and 13 RBIs in 28 games with Criollos de Caguas.

Outfielder Felix Pie is supposed to begin playing for Tigres del Licey in the Dominican sometime in January.

Jessica Mosley, 27, Arlington, VA., education coordinator
Crowned Baltimore’s Ultimate Couch Potato last year after sitting for 70 hours and 45 seconds, she unofficially broke the Guinness Book of World Records mark for most hours of continuous sports watched.

Alex Pyzik, 24, Bel Air, self-employed
Last year’s runner-up sat 70 hours before conceding to Mosley. A die-hard Ravens fan, Pyzik entered this year’s competition for revenge, after his friends mocked him for the past year for falling short of the title. He wrote, “Ali had Frasier, Bird had Johnson, Pacquiao had Cotto, and I have Jessica to call my nemesis.”

Chad Jones, 35, Fort Meade, communications director
As a kid, Jones was called to the principal’s office when the school realized that the only two days of school he missed each year were the first two days of March Madness. Instead of detention, he got a handshake. More recently, when his wife was put on bed rest, the doctor referred her to Chad for ways to cope with how to be a couch potato.

Chris Dachille, 30, Timoniun, sports producer
Dachille is a sports producer for a local broadcast station, so when he’s not watching sports for fun he’s watching sports for work. This is his second year entering the competition and his first being selected as a contestant.
