But then you look at a night like last night when the O’s went 3-for-8 with runners in scoring position and all three hits were pretty big.

Adam Jones delivered a two-out RBI single in the first to put the O’s in the lead. Adam Jones delivered a two-out RBI single in the first to put the O’s in the lead. Then in the 10th, Chris Davis delivered the tie-breaking two-run double and Matt Wieters followed with an RBI single.

In the three games on this trip, the O’s are 11-for-33 with RISP. Over the last seven games, they are batting .328 (20-for-61) with RISP. That is pretty good.

The O’s top two RBI guys have thrived this season batting with RISP.

Jones is batting .318 with an .815 OPS when he hits with runners in scoring position. He is batting .353 with runners on base to include at-bats with a runner on first.

Davis’ RISP numbers are quite amazing. When batting with RISP, he is hitting .364 with an .813 slugging percentage and OPS of 1.252. Yeah, pretty amazing numbers.

On Wednesday at San Diego, Davis hit a tie-breaking three-run homer in the eighth inning and last night, he hit a two-run double to break the tie in the 10th.

Those were two pretty big hits. It was very MVP-like of him.
