With last night’s game, a 7-5 loss at Colorado, the Orioles have played 137 games with 25 to go in the 2024 regular season.

If we count March as its own month and we will as the Orioles played three games then, they’ve now completed six months of baseball.

Here is a statistical look at each month with the team record, the staff ERA and OPS against and the offense’s runs per game each month with the OPS on offense by the club.

* March, 2-1 record: 3.00 ERA, .533 OPS against, 8.33 runs per game & .823 OPS.

* April, 17-9 record: 3.75 ERA, .695 OPS against, 5.08 runs per game & .755 OPS.

* May, 17-9 record: 2.86 ERA, .594 OPS against, 4.54 runs per game & .715 OPS.

* June, 17-12 record: 3.73 ERA, .699 OPS against, 5.62 runs per game & 847 OPS.

* July, 12-13 record: 4.97 ERA, .758 OPS against, 4.60 runs per game & .762 OPS.

* August, 13-15 record: 4.68 ERA, .737 OPS against, 4.50 runs per game & .691 OPS.

The Orioles have back-to-back losing months for the first time since going through 12 straight from August 2019 through May 2022 (min. 10 games played).

Prior to their losing record in July, the O’s had nine consecutive winning months since the start of 2023, which was the longest streak by the team since May 1982 through September 1983, with 11 consecutive winning months.

At 78-59, the O’s have lost three of four, six of 10 and 11 of their past 19 games.

Since they were 45-22 (.672) on June 12, the Orioles are 33-37 (.471) the last 70 games.

Another Tony Tater: Anthony Santander hit No. 39 last night, a two-run shot in the fourth that pulled the O’s within 3-2. He became the ninth Oriole in club history to hit 39 or more home runs.

Tony Taters hit the 150^th home run of his career and became the 16^th Oriole to reach 150 for the franchise. He becomes the 22^nd Venezuelan-born player to reach 150 in the majors. He is one homer shy of tying Chris Hoiles (151) for 15^th most homers in O’s club history.

Santander has hit seven homers his past 22 games and has hit 30 in 80 games since June 1.

Santander and Gunnar Henderson are forming one of the best home run hitting duos in Orioles history. They rank tied for third in club history in most homers hit by the end of August.
