The Orioles also released first baseman Henry Wrigley, and left-handed pitchers Zach Fowler and Steve Garrison, bringing the number of players released since spring training began to 18.

A 23-year-old right-hander, Beck went 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA over 20 2/3 innings last season for Single-A Delmarva. A 23-year-old right-hander, Beck went 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA over 20 2/3 innings last season for Single-A Delmarva. The Millersville, Md., native was the Orioles’ 33rd-round pick in 2011. He led short-season Single-A Aberdeen with 59 strikeouts when he was 4-3 with a 2.44 ERA during the 2012 season.

Baker, 26, was acquired by the Orioles on July 30, 2011 when then-GM Andy MacPhail traded first baseman Derrek Lee to Pittsburgh. Baker hit 22 homers for Single-A Frederick in 2012 which was second most among O’s minor league players. Last year, he batted .224 with six homers and 26 RBIs for Frederick and Double-A Bowie.

The 24-year-old Fowler spent three seasons in the O’s organization after being drafted in round 34 of 2011 out of Texas Tech. For Frederick last season, he was 3-4 with a 2.57 ERA in 37 games over 73 2/3 innings with 28 walks and 55 strikeouts.

The 27-year-old Garrison was in his first season in the organization. In 2013 for Double-A Mobile in the Arizona organization, he went 1-1 with a 3.30 ERA over 47 games. Garrison pitched in one major league game, working 2/3 of inning without allowing a run for the Yankees in 2011.

Wrigley, 27, was in his first year with the Orioles. For Double-A Tulsa of the Texas League in the Colorado organization last season, he batted .188 with four homers and 10 RBIs in 31 games. Wrigley was a Tampa Bay Rays 10th-round pick in 2005.
