The offseason is here, and it’s time for the Orioles to rest their bodies and prepare for next season. Unless, of course, you’re Adam Jones. There are new restaurants to be conquered, tweets to be tweeted and obligations on the winter banquet circuit.
A cartoon version of the Orioles center fielder will be busy, too. He will join other major leaguers on a World Series-themed episode of “Uncle Grandpa,” the popular Cartoon Network series whose protagonist tries to help children through a myriad of problems, which somehow always become a grand adventure.
How could you not like a cartoon featuring a talking slice of pizza?
Anyway, Jones will join some other prominent major leaguers – Rays pitcher Chris Archer, Red Sox pitcher David Price, Astros second baseman Jose Altuve and Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard – to help train a struggling Little League team on the verge of giving up.
The episode featuring Jones will air at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22. That doesn’t conflict with any postseason games, so plan on tuning in.
Here’s a short clip of a clip from “Uncle Baseball,” the episode of “Uncle Grandpa” where Jones will appear (and no doubt steal the show):
