Tatum could be recalled in time to catch tomorrow’s game, since it’s a quick turnaround. He’s in Baltimore. And Wieters won’t start tomorrow.
Don’t forget about that 12:35 p.m. starting time.
Arrieta is 4-0 with a 1.88 ERA in four starts against the AL Central this year.
A victory tonight would allow the Orioles to tie their longest winning streak of the season, which was built over the first four games of the season.
Eight of the last 10 games between the Orioles and Royals have been decided by one or two runs. Last year, five of the six games were decided by one run. The other game ended in a two-run margin.
The Orioles lead the majors with a .667 average (6-for-9) and a 1.222 slugging percentage in pinch-hit situations. They have two doubles, a home run and three RBIs. Last year, the Orioles batted .131 (8-for-61) with two doubles, two homers and seven RBIs in pinch-hit situations.
Troy Patton cleared optional waivers, as expected, and was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.
