The Orioles and Yankees are once again tied for first with identical 77-60 records.

Coming to bat right after seeing a 6-1 lead turn into a 6-6 tie, the O’s unloaded on David Robertson. First, Adam Jones homered to left for a 7-6 lead one pitch after…The Orioles let the lead get away, but certainly not the win tonight as they beat the Yankees 10-6 at Camden Yards behind a stunning power display in the last of the eighth. Coming to bat right after seeing a 6-1 lead turn into a 6-6 tie, the O’s unloaded on David Robertson. First, Adam Jones homered to left for a 7-6 lead one pitch after Robertson threw one over Jones’ head.

After a Matt Wieters single, Mark Reynolds hit his second homer of the game, a two-run shot for a 9-6 lead. Chris Davis followed with a solo blast to right off Boone Logan and it was 10-6. Just that fast.

Over his last four games vs. New York, Reynolds is 7-for-14 with six homers and 10 RBIs. He has hit four homers his last three games, eight in the past seven and 11 in his last 22 games.

It was a three-homer barrage in the eighth as part of a six-homer game for the Orioles. The last time they hit six in one game was on Aug. 28, 2007 at home vs. Tampa Bay.

The game got off to a stunning start for the Orioles as they led 4-0 after one inning. Wieters got the sellout crowd into a frenzy with a three-run shot down the left-field line in the first.

The O’s seemingly had the game in hand with a 6-1 lead in the eighth. But Randy Wolf and Pedro Strop combined to walk four batters, as New York rallied to tie the game.

But just as quickly, the tie was gone and the Orioles were up by four.

The Orioles improve to 8-7 against New York and have won eight of the last 11 meetings between the teams. Overall, they have won six of the last eight, 10 of 13, 16 of 23 and are 31-16 over the last 47 games.

For the Orioles, it was a great start and great finish as they take Game 1 of this big four-game series.
