Here’s a heads up that MASNsports.com’s Orioles beat writer Steve Melewski will be bringing you some exciting minor league coverage from around the farm system over the next week or so in Birdland.

Steve will make sure you don’t miss a pitch, starting with Aberdeen’s media day at noon on Wednesday, just days before the IronBirds kick off their ’09 schedule against Hudson Valley on Friday of this week.
Later that evening, look for pregame and inning-by-inning updates during Brian Matusz’s Double-A debut with Bowie Wednesday night. Matusz will take the mound as the Baysox take on the Reading Phillies for the fifth time this season.
Then on Monday, June 22nd, when the IronBirds return to Aberdeen for their home opener against Staten Island at 7:35 p.m., look for more from Steve, as he’ll be there covering the action for those of you who can’t be.
Meanwhile, those of you who have gotten to know Steve through his thorough and meticulous writing know that he won’t be leaving the O’s completely behind, but fellow O’s blogger Roch Kubatko will be covering the Birds from home base here at Camden Yards; so between the two of them, you know you won’t miss a beat.
Instead, you’ll be a step ahead with even more knowledge of the prospects that are going to make this O’s team a fun one to watch for years to come.
