SEATTLE – Ballots were revealed earlier today for the All-Star Game that’s set for the July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.

Votes can be cast at www.mlb.com/all-star/ballot.

Phase 1 runs from today-June 26, and Phase 2 from June 30-July 2. One player may be chosen from each position during the initial round except for outfield (three). Starters are selected beginning June 30.

The top vote recipient in each league automatically makes the starting lineup, and the remaining spots are determined by the fans.  

Starters will be announced on July 2 at 7 p.m. on ESPN, and pitchers and reserves will be revealed July 6 at 5 p.m. on ESPN.

Orioles representatives are as follows:

First base: Ryan Mountcastle
Second base: Jackson Holliday
Shortstop: Gunnar Henderson
Third base: Ramón Urías
Catcher: Adley Rutschman
Outfield: Cedric Mullins
Outfield: Tyler O’Neill
Outfield: Ramón Laureano
Designated hitter: Ryan O’Hearn

Colton Cowser appeared in only his fifth game last night, which prevented him from appearing on the ballot. Laureano emerged as his replacement with Mullins and O’Neill also on the injured list.

A write-in space is provided for any players who aren’t on the ballot.

Henderson and Rutschman were in last year’s American League lineup at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Henderson also participated in the Home Run Derby and was eliminated in the first round.

Corbin Burnes was chosen as the starting pitcher, and infielder Jordan Westburg and outfielder Anthony Santander were injury replacements. All three players are on the injured list, with Westburg expected to rejoin the Orioles this week. Burnes signed with the Diamondbacks and Santander with the Blue Jays during the offseason.

The Orioles have crept to within four games of the fourth-place Red Sox in the American League East and will try tonight for their first five-game winning streak since June 7-12, 2024, when they won six in a row. They also can win back-to-back series for the first time.

They’re 8-8 under interim manager Tony Mansolino.

The rotation has posted a 1.99 ERA over the past nine games. Left-hander Cade Povich tossed three scoreless innings against the Cardinals in his last start but allowed two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.

Povich has never faced the Mariners.

Povich has allowed 2.63 home runs per nine innings at home and 0.38 on the road.

Dylan Carlson has a five-game hitting streak, his longest since Aug. 2-9, 2024 with the Cardinals.

Seattle’s Emerson Hancock has a 5.64 ERA and 1.567 WHIP in nine starts and is averaging 11.1 hits per nine innings.

Hancock, the sixth-overall draft pick in 2020 out of the University of Georgia, has never faced the Orioles.

Hancock’s opponent batting average is .356 at home, compared to .274 on the road.
