Because I’m greedy and also leery of the offense shutting down, I hoped that four hits, a walk and a passed ball would produce more than three runs. But that’s still a massive uprising against Sabathia, who’s 13-1 with a 2.59 ERA lifetime against the Orioles.

Sabathia, by the way, has surrendered more than three earned runs in only one of his last 18 starts.

Jake Arrieta needs a 1-2-3 inning here. Make a statement. Don’t immediately let the Yankees back in the game.

Yes, I’m leery. And more than a tad greedy.

Update: Arrieta gave up a run in the bottom of the first, but Nolan Reimold just drilled a two-run shot into the second deck in left field in the top of the third. Orioles 5, Yankees 1.

Reimiold entered the game 6-for-14 with two doubles lifetime against Sabathia. Good night to give him a start.
