Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
At least if you’re measuring their impact on the 2010 Orioles.
I know it’s early. Juan Samuel has been manager for four innings. But we’ve just confirmed that there are no quick fixes.

Red Sox 7, Orioles 0.
The Orioles can’t push across a run, but they can be pushed around.
What is it about introducing new managers that always leads to a blowout?
Rick Kranitz has gone to the mound to counsel Hendrickson. Matt Albers is warming in the bullpen. Samuel has volunteered to manage at Norfolk.
The pace of this game has slowed. A crawl would be sprinter’s speed by comparison.
Last year’s first-round pick, Matt Hobgood, is starting again tonight for Single-A Delmarva. He’s allowed two earned runs (three total) and six hits in six innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. He’s also thrown two wild pitches, committed a balk and made a bad throw on a pickoff attempt.
Pretty eventful.
Steven Bumbry is 2-for-2.
Joel Guzman and Caleb Joseph homered for Double-A Bowie. Guzman has 12 homers and 36 RBIs.
Triple-A Norfolk’s Armando Gabino allowed six runs (four earned) and six hits in three innings against Buffalo, and the Tides are being shut out by a pitcher named “Stoner.”
