I remember when that title conjured up nothing but negative images. But not anymore.
Did Buck Showalter spike the Gatorade?
I’m running out of ideas.
The Orioles are winning games every way imaginable. Low-scoring, high-scoring, tie-breaking, come-from-behind.
Tonight, they simply bashed the Indians into submission, erupting for 14 runs in their gaudiest display of the season.
Are you sold yet?
I don’t know how long it’s going to last, and I don’t care. I’m just going to enjoy…I remember when that title conjured up nothing but negative images. But not anymore.

I’ll also appreciate how Showalter let Jake Arrieta work through his problems and pick up the win. The rookie was on a pretty long leash tonight, and it proved to be the proper length.
Felix Pie, Corey Patterson, Matt Wieters and Luke Scott homered tonight. Patterson also tripled.
I know what you’re thinking: Earl Weaver also had a knack for starting players at the right time and getting the most out of them.
He sat Josh Bell, moved Ty Wigginton to third, put Luke Scott at first and used Patterson as his DH. And look what happened.
Showalter isn’t Weaver, but he’s pushing all the right buttons so far.
(Well, I wasn’t a huge fan of that Alfredo Simon button last night, but I’m not going there again. And we avoided the save situation debate tonight, which is good.)
Let’s not ignore Mark Hendrickson’s two scoreless innings, which were extremely important.
Let’s savor it all.
