Well, another night of little offense, clutch or otherwise.
The Orioles are 1-6 with four losses in a row and are 0-4 on the homestand.
Tonight’s attendance of 9,129 was the smallest crowd in Camden Yards history.
Tonight they went 0 for 3 with runners in scoring position in the 5-1 loss vs. Tampa. Felix Pie’s homer leading off the game, his first-ever leadoff homer, produced the O’s only run. They have scored an AL-low 20 runs this season with just three in the last three games and nine on this homestand.
Matt Garza gave up just one earned run in eight frames vs. the Birds, just as he had last week in Tampa and is 2-0, 1.13 on the year.
Jeremy Guthrie joined the list of O’s starters who have thrown well this year with nothing to show for it. He gave up three runs over seven innings and 105 pitches. He is 0-2, 4.05 on the year. This was the O’s fourth quality start of the season.
Carl Crawford had a huge game for Tampa, which is starting a ten-game road trip tonight. He went 4 for 4 with a double, solo homer and great diving catch to save a run in the O’s seventh.
