Robinson Cano is 8-for-14 with a home run and six RBIs lifetime against Tillman. Derek Jeter is 6-for-12, and Nick Swisher is 5-for-13 with a homer.

Markakis is 12-for-36 (.333) with a homer and six RBIs against Hughes. Jones is 5-for-28 (.179) with a homer.

If the Orioles are victorious today, they will have won all three series in the Bronx in the same year for the first time since 1976. It would be the fifth time in Orioles history that they won three or more series in a season at Yankee Stadium (also 1976, 1967, 1966 and 1965).

The Orioles are 10-5 in games that would give them a series win, including 6-2 on the road.

The Orioles are 24-13 in day games (11-7 at home, 13-6 on the road). Their .649 winning percentage is the best in the American League and the second-best in the majors behind the Reds (33-14, .702).

The Orioles’ franchise-record streak of 13 consecutive wins in one-run games was snapped yesterday. According to Elias, it was the longest winning streak in one-run games since the Blue Jays won 19 straight in 1984.

When left-hander Randy Wolf makes his debut, he will become the 50th Oriole to play in a game this year. According to Elias, it will be the fourth time in franchise history that the Orioles have used 50 or more players in a season. They used 50 in 2011 and 2000 and 54 players in 1955.

Jason Hammel is celebrating his 30th birthday today.

Update: Hammel is joining the Orioles today and will accompany them to Toronto. It’s easier to get a group through customs than go individually.

Hammel will throw a bullpen session in Toronto and could start on Thursday. He only threw 66 pitches last night, but I’m not sure whether the Orioles want him starting Wednesday on short rest.

Tommy Hunter is meeting the Orioles in Toronto and is expected to be recalled on Monday. He will be assigned to the bullpen.
