Miguel Tejada grounded into a double play in the top of the first today to kill a rally. The O’s had runners on first and third and scored a run on the grounder, but it took the air out of their first-inning rally.
The O’s are among the AL leaders in hitting into double plays:
53 – Minnesota
49 – Orioles
48 – KC
Here are the O’s leaders in GIDP’s: (through Saturday)
6 – Garrett Atkins, Adam Jones, Ty Wigginton
5 – Nick Markakis, Nolan Reimold, Matt Wieters
4 – Miguel Tejada

No Oriole is close to the AL lead in that category:
12 – Michael Cuddyer, Minn
11 – Billy Butler, KC
9 – Miguel Cabrera, Det & Joe Mauer, Minn
Some good hitters on that list.
The DP ball has been a thorn in the side of the O’s all year. In the third, Tejada lined out to second. It seems to me he also hits the ball hard a lot with no hits to show for it. Don’t think they keep a stat on that.
