Now you know why the Orioles need the extra bullpen arm.
This is the second-shortest outing of Arrieta’s major league career. He lasted only three innings on June 20 in San Diego. He went 4 1/3 innings in his next appearance against the Nationals before recording three straight quality starts.
Update: Delmon Young and Jim Thome opened the sixth with back-to-back homers off Mark Hendrickson. Total distance: 820 feet.
Nick Punto added an RBI double in the inning.
