The final home game for the Orioles in the 2025 season comes with a lineup this afternoon with Dylan Beavers leading off for the second time in the majors.

Samuel Basallo said his right wrist feels much better today and he hopes to play Friday night at Yankee Stadium. Alex Jackson is catching today.

Jeremiah Jackson is in right field and Jorge Mateo is at second base, with Jackson Holliday on the bench. Holliday is dealing with a sore knee.

Gunnar Henderson stole his 29th base last night and has been successful in his last 15 attempts since Aug. 4.

Colton Cowser, in center field again today, is 14-for-14 in stolen base attempts. He would set a team record.

Cowser has a .962 slugging percentage on the first pitch this season, the highest on the club in a minimum 20 plate appearances and highest of his career, per STATS.

Left-hander Cade Povich makes his 20th start among 22 appearances and will try to lower a 5.06 ERA and 1.463 WHIP in 106 2/3 innings. He’s never faced the Rays.

A victory would secure three straight winning seasons over Tampa Bay for the first time since 2014-16.

All-Star Drew Rasmussen has made 30 starts and posted a 2.80 ERA and 1.009 WHIP in 147 2/3 innings. He faced the Orioles on June 19 in Tampa and allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Rasmussen has recorded a 2.97 ERA and 0.960 WHIP in nine career games (six starts) against the Orioles. He took a perfect game into the ninth inning on Aug. 14, 2022 at Tropicana Field before Mateo’s leadoff double.

Mateo is 3-for-8 against Rasmussen.

The Rays lead the Orioles by three games for fourth place in the division.

The forecast has improved and Major League Baseball will make every effort to play the game.
