Bassitt makes first start and Basallo returns to Orioles’ lineup

Chris Bassitt makes his Orioles exhibition debut this afternoon in Fort Myers, where they’ll play the Red Sox before Monday’s off-day.
Bassitt had multiple ups in live batting practice and is ready to go after signing his $18.5 million contract on Feb. 13.
Samuel Basallo is back in the lineup and catching today after leaving Thursday’s game with right abdominal discomfort.
Blaze Alexander is starting as shortstop with Gunnar Henderson leaving camp to represent Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Enrique Bradfield Jr. is in right field. Tyler O’Neill is joining Team Canada.
Colton Cowser leads off and is playing center field. Dylan Beavers is the designated hitter, with Heston Kjerstad in left field.
Ryan Noda gets the start at first base.
Other Orioles pitchers listed today are Cameron Foster, Albert Suárez, Anthony Nunez, Luis De León and Jeisson Cabrera.
