He entered tonight leading the AL in batting average against at .138 (13-for-94) and that ranks second best in the majors. He did throw 125 pitches, the second most in his career over eight innings in his last start at Los Angeles.
Tomorrow night, the O’s are scheduled to face Jon Lester and he is 13-0 with a 2.33 career ERA over 16 starts versus the Orioles. Boston has gone 15-1 in those games.
Boston is 5-1 over its last six games and a major league best 8-2 since April 16.
The Orioles have won three of their last four versus Boston and are 10-7 in their last 17 against the Red Sox since last April 25.
