This will be Matusz’s first outing at Bowie since July 27, 2009. That year, he made eight starts for the Baysox, going 7-0 with an ERA of 1.55 over 46 1/3 innings before his callup to Baltimore on Aug. 4.

His mound opponent tonight is Jacob Turner, the top prospect in the Tigers’ organization who just turned 20 today. The right-hander is 1-1 with a 2.58 ERA.

The Baysox made two roster moves today, sending pitcher Mitch Atkins to Triple-A Norfolk and adding pitcher Rick Zagone from Frederick.
