The Orioles are getting healthier.
So they’ve got that going for them.
Outfielder Dylan Beavers was reinstated from the 10-day injured list this morning and catcher Adley Rutschman was reinstated from the seven-day concussion list.
Infielder Jeremiah Jackson was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk and catcher Sam Huff was designated for assignment.
The club is sticking with three catchers, including Chadwick Tromp, who collected two hits last night.
The Orioles haven’t posted their lineup, but Rutschman and Beavers could be in it against right-hander Zack Littell.
Jackson’s playing time has been reduced by Blaze Alexander’s hot stretch and Jackson Holliday’s return from the IL. He’s batting .251 with a .667 OPS in 65 games.
Kyle Bradish has a 3.64 ERA in 16 starts. He shut out the Dodgers over eight innings in his last game, after holding the Mariners to one run with a career-high 12 strikeouts over 7 2/3.
Bradish has made three career starts against the Nationals and allowed one run in 19 innings. Keibert Ruiz is 5-for-7 against him.
Littell is making his 12th start among 17 appearances. He has a 5.40 ERA with 21 home runs surrendered in 75 innings that lead the National League.
Littell started against the Orioles on May 15 and tossed five scoreless innings with only two hits allowed. He has a 2.52 ERA in 11 career games (nine starts) against the Orioles. Taylor Ward is 5-for-11 with two home runs. Colton Cowser is 4-for-18 with a triple and two homers. Gunnar Henderson is 8-for-28 with two doubles and two home runs against Littell.
Update: Samuel Basallo is playing first base today in the series finale. Pete Alonso is the designated hitter.
Beavers is in right field. Rutschman is behind the plate.
