Bergesen was taken to a local hospital for X-rays, but the initial report is encouraging.

The ball appeared to hit Bergesen on the top of his forearm near the elbow.

The bad news for Bergesen, of course, is he can’t turn in the quality start that he needed this afternoon. Bergesen update: X-rays were negative. He’s just dealing with a bad bruise.

Also, Jake Fox’s ninth home run reduced the Twins’ lead to 6-3 in the fourth. It was another monstrous shot.
