Brad Bergesen gave up just one run over seven innings to get his 7th win as the Orioles beat Kansas City 7-3 to split the four-game series.
Bergesen left the game in pain as Billy Butler’s liner back to the mound hit him on his left shin. Catcher Matt Wieters would field the ball and throw Butler out to end the seventh.
As of this writing, there was no further update on the extent of Bergesen’s injury.

Ty Wigginton’s solo homer gave the O’s a 1-0 lead in the second. They added four runs vs. Luke Hochevar in the fifth. Nick Markakis’ RBI infield single made it a 2-0 game and Aubrey Huff’s 3-run double gave Baltimore a 5-0 edge.
Brian Roberts added an RBI double and Felix Pie an RBI single in the 6th for a 7-0 edge.
KC’s John Buck hit a two-run homer in the 8th off Mark Hendrickson.
The O’s improve to 4-9 since the All-Star break with their second win in a row. The Orioles host Boston for a three-game series starting Friday at 7:05 p.m.
