Jason Berken pitched 5 2/3 innings to pick up his third Major League win as the Orioles beat the White Sox 5-4 Sunday afternoon.
The O’s took two of three in the weekend set to win their first series of the second half. They had been 0-9-1 in series since the All-Star game.
Berken, now 3-11, 6.49, gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) and threw 101 pitches.

The O’s took two of three in the weekend set to win their first series of the second half. They had been 0-9-1 in series since the All-Star game.
Berken, now 3-11, 6.49, gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) and threw 101 pitches.
Adam Jones had an RBI single in the top of the first, then left the game with a “mild mid back muscle spasm.”
His replacement, Felix Pie had a sac fly and solo homer while Nolan Reimold added a two-run homer.
Brian Roberts added three hits, including his AL-leading 47th double and he scored twice.
Losing pitcher Mark Buehrle falls to 11-7, 3.92. He gave up five runs over 5 1/3. Since pitching a perfect game on July 23rd, Buehrle is 0-4, 6.21 over the last six starts.
Jim Johnson allowed a run in the ninth, but struck out Mark Kotsay with the tie run on second base to end the game.
With the win, the O’s take the season series, 5-4 vs. Chicago for just the second time in the last ten years.
