But Yunel Escobar’s three-run homer in the fourth off Jeremy Guthrie broke a 2-2 tie and Toronto went on to a 7-4 win this afternoon in front of 25,431 at Camden Yards.

The Orioles are just 7-22 in their last 29 games against Toronto and are just 3-10 this season in their last 13 games versus American League East opponents.

Guthrie falls to 2-8 with an ERA of 3.71 after giving up six runs and nine hits over five innings. He had allowed just four earned runs in 22 innings over his previous three starts.

Adam Lind went 4-for-4 with a pair of solo homers as the Blue Jays improved to 30-29. It was the second time on the season and sixth time in his career Lind had a multi-homer game.

The Orioles scored twice in the first inning to lead 2-1 then on a Vladimir Guerrero RBI double and Derrek Lee RBI groundout. A Nick Markakis sac fly in the fifth provided the third run.

Mark Reynolds hit a solo homer in the last of the ninth, his second in two days and ninth on the year. It traveled 410 feet to center field and was Reynolds eighth homer versus right-handed pitching.

The Orioles have now lost seven of their last nine games. They fall to 7-13 in series finales, 8-14 against the AL East and 16-16 in home games.

The Orioles (26-31) now face Oakland the next three days with Brian Matusz (0-0, 1.59) facing Gio Gonzalez (5-3, 2.49) Monday night at the Yard.
