Bobby Bundy wins league honor again (and note)

Single-A Frederick pitcher Bobby Bundy was named the Carolina League's Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. In two starts, Bundy was 2-0 with a 0.56 ERA, five hits allowed and 15 strikeouts in 16 innings. Last night, Bundy held Myrtle Beach to one unearned run and two hits in seven innings. Bundy, an eighth-round pick in the 2008 draft, also was honored for the week of May 16-22. If this continues, he'll be known as a lot more than Dylan's brother. Bundy looks like a favorite to be named the organization's minor league Pitcher of the Year. He's 10-5 with a 2.92 ERA in 19 starts, and 3-0 with a 2.52 ERA in five starts in the second half. Also down on the farm, left-hander Zach Phillips appeared in his first game for Triple-A Norfolk last night since the Orioles acquired him from the Rangers for infielder Nick Green. Phillips tossed a scoreless inning to earn the save in Game 2 of the Tides' doubleheader. Matt Angle went 3-for-5 in Game 1 and 3-for-3 in the nightcap. He's hitting .418 (33-for-79) in his last 18 games with Norfolk. NOTE: The Orioles won't make a decision on whether to activate Vladimir Guerrero and Cesar Izturis from the disabled list until tomorrow, but it's expected to happen.
