When the Orioles got off to that 6-1 start, they were getting brilliant starting pitching.
While they can’t expect it to be like that a lot, they can hope as the games start coming every day now, that their rotation can get into a little groove, stay healthy and start cranking out more solid outings.
Over the first seven games, when the O’s did go 6-1, they had five quality starts. Over the last nine games, during a 1-8 run, they have had four quality starts.

Zach Britton makes his fourth major league start here at Camden Yards tonight, hoping for his third quality start of the season. He pitched decently enough in his last outing, but took the loss in Cleveland when he gave up five runs and eight hits over six innings.
Britton actually allowed more hits in that game with eight then he gave up over his first two starts when he allowed just one run on seven hits over 13 2/3 against Tampa and Texas. He is 2-1 on the year with an ERA of 2.75.
The O’s are even in this series, one win each versus Minnesota, but the Twins have won six of the last eight between these teams. The Orioles have lost their last three series after winning the first two. They are 4-4 at home.
Here are the pitching matchups for the series with the Yankees this weekend:
Friday at 7:05: Brad Bergesen (0-2, 3.38) vs. CC Sabathia (0-2, 4.50)
Saturday at 7:05: Chris Tillman (0-2, 6.16) vs. Ivan Nova (1-2, 7.63)
Sunday at 1:35: Jake Arrieta (2-1, 5.06) vs. Freddy Garcia (1-0, 1.29).
