We already know Oriole Park at Camden Yards is the most beautiful of baseball cathedrals. We know that its arrival kicked off a new era in baseball stadium construction, with Baltimore’s downtown ballpark often imitated but never duplicated. And we’re sure that it’s the finest place to take in a game featuring your beloved Orioles.
Camden Yards has collected accolades aplenty over the years, and it’s now competing for another in an online USA Today competition to choose the most “Must-See Stadium” in the country as part of the publication’s 10 Best Reader’s Choice awards.
The competition is steep. Not only is Camden Yards battling historic baseball venues like Fenway Park in Boston, Yankee Stadium in New York City, PNC Park in Pittsburgh and AT&T Park in San Francisco, but it’s matched up against college basketball (Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan.), pro football (Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.), pro basketball (Madison Square Garden in New York City), college football (Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor) and thoroughbred racing (Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.) venues. In all, there are 20 iconic stadiums, fieldhouses and arenas competing.
Of course, you can help Camden Yards’ cause by voting – once a day through noon on Monday, March 5. Winners will be announced on Friday, March 9.
You can vote here.
