After another win on Saturday, the Arizona Fall League’s Scottsdale Scorpions improved to 8-3 and they have the best record in the league. There are eight O’s minor leaguers playing on that Scorpions team.
Here are the up-to-date stats on all eight.
The hitters:
Ryan Adams: .333-1-8…….7 games…..9-27 AB.
Xavier Avery: .259-0-1…….7 games…..7-27 AB.
Caleb Joseph: .417-0-0……4 games….5-12 AB.
Greg Miclat: .333-0-1……..7 games……9-27 AB.

Adams went 0 for 4 on Saturday, his first hitless AFL game. He is 5 for 11 vs. lefties and 4 for 16 vs. right-handed pitching and has made all seven of his starts at third base.
Avery is 3 for 3 in steal attempts. He had a four-hit game on October 15, but is 3 for 22 in the other six contests.
Joseph, who has made one start at first base, has five hits, all singles.
Miclat picked up his third, two-hit game of the AFL season on Saturday. He is 5 for 12 vs. left-handed pitching and 4 for 15 vs. righties and has hit safely in six of seven games. Miclat has made four starts at SS, two at 2B and one at DH.
Tyler Townsend was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI before a hand injury ended his AFL tenure.
The pitchers:
Oliver Drake: 1-1, 7.11 in two starts.
Pat Egan: 0-0, 1.59 in four games.
Kam Mickolio: 0-0. 3.38 in two games.
Wynn Pelzer: 0-0, 4.15 in four games.
Drake has allowed four hits and five runs over 6 1/3 innings. Lefty batters are just 1 for 10 against him. Egan gave up a run in his first outing and has pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings over his past three games. Mickolio has pitched 2 2/3 in his two outings. Pelzer had no walks in his first two games, but has issued six walks over his last two games, covering 2 1/3 innings. Right-handed batters are 0 for 7 vs. Pelzer.
AFL Notes: O’s prospect Avery is one of six players in the AFL that was born in the 1990’s. Avery was born on January 1st, 1990, making him the 6th youngest player in the league.
There are 112 players that have competed in the MLB post-season this year that once played in the AFL. In fact, they represent 56 percent of the players on all eight rosters. Tampa led the way with 20 former Fall Leaguers, while Minnesota had 17.
