Clevenger went hitless in his first 11 at-bats with the Tides before stringing together five consecutive multi-hit games. He went 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBIs Tuesday in Norfolk’s 7-6 victory in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Clevenger is the second Norfolk player to win the weekly honor, joining outfielder Francisco Peguero (May 19-25). Peguero recently began a second injury rehab assignment with the Tides.
The Orioles optioned the Pride of Pigtown on May 27 after first baseman Chris Davis came off paternity leave. He batted .243/.300/.378 with eight doubles, a triple and eight RBIs in 24 games and threw out three of 20 runners attempting to steal.
The Orioles decided to keep Caleb Joseph as their second catcher after acquiring Nick Hundley from the Padres for left-hander Troy Patton.
