Chris Davis hit an absolute bomb down the right field line in the bottom of the seventh inning, the ball easily clearing the flag court and bouncing on Eutaw St. to increase the Orioles’ lead to 10-1.

Davis, who connected off former Orioles reliever Jim Miller, is 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. He’s batting .313.

That’s the 59th ball to land on Eutaw St., and the 25th time that an Orioles player has put it there. Davis hadn’t done it before…I would have guessed I-95.

Wei-Yin Chen held Oakland to one run and six hits over seven innings, with two walks and four strikeouts. He threw 107 pitches, 66 for strikes.

Chen, who topped his previous major league high of 6 1/3 innings in his previous start in Anaheim, hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in any of his four starts. His ERA is down to 2.22.

The fact that Chen pitched this well in cold and rainy conditions, and after taking a shot below the belt in the fourth inning, really amps up the respect factor.
