If the O’s played the Marlins more, the Demper would probably change that to “don’t pitch to Ramirez.”

After missing Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, Ramirez returned to the lineup last night for the Marlins.

And picked up where he left off last June in again tormenting O’s pitching.

Ramirez went 3 for 4 last night with a two-run double and three RBI in the Marlins 10-4 win.

Over his last four games vs. the Orioles, three last year and one last night, he is now 9 for 17 (.529) with five runs, three doubles, two homers and 14 RBI.

He has now knocked in 4, 2, 5 and 3 runs in those games.

Some other notes coming out of Tuesday’s game:

*Jason Berken has now made six consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run. Over those 8 1/3 innings, he has walked two and fanned 10 and lowered his ERA to 1.85, it’s low point since May 27.

*The O’s allowed 9 ER last night and the team ERA increased to a season-worst, 5.03.

*Matt Wieters three-run homer last night was just the 4th homer this year by the O’s that was a three-run shot or a Grand Slam. That’s four out of 53 homers on the season.

*The Orioles are now 5-17 all-time vs. the Marlins losing nine of the last ten between the teams.

*Tonight’s starter, Brian Matusz, is 0-7 over his last 11 starts since a win April 18 at Oakland. But over his last four starts, despite not getting the win, Matusz has worked to an ERA of 2.39. And he made those four starts vs. the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets and San Diego.
