Matt Albers has replaced Milwood, who so far is charged with two runs and nine hits. Both runners are his responsibility, of course.

Instant update: Pat Burrell bounced into a 6-4-3 double play before I could send this entry.

The Orioles are 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position tonight.

Updated again: Albers struck out Sean Rodriguez to strand the tying run at third base. Albers spun around and pumped his fist before heading to the dugout. Impressive outing.

Will we see Albers again in the seventh or Cla Meredith? Jim Johnson in the eighth? Mike Gonzalez closing it out in the ninth?

Stay tuned.

Longoria’s home run landed in the first row of the party deck in left – the second homer to land in the upper deck in left without hitting a catwalk. Vinny Castilla did it on April 4, 2001.

Adam Jones just reached on an infield hit, making him a triple shy of the cycle. He also knocked James Shields out of the game. Enter Randy Choate. Shields threw 107 pitches.

Sixty-four of Millwood’s 100 pitches were strikes. He allowed two runs and nine hits in five-plus innings, with one walk and five strikeouts.
