Ian Kinsler drilled a two-out, two-run homer off Norris in the top of the eighth to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead. Norris proceeded to hit Hunter, who took a wide path toward first base while catcher Steve Clevenger followed him.

Order appeared to be restored until Hunter started yelling again at the Orioles’ dugout, presumably at Norris. The Tigers came back onto the field and the game was further delayed.

Preston Guilmet made his Orioles debut and retired Miguel Cabrera on a force play to end the inning.

The MASN camera caught pitching coach Dave Wallace nudging Norris toward the dugout exit and saying, “Go. Go.” Norris obliged.

After being hit, Hunter appeared to yell at Norris that he was going to whoop the pitcher’s class. Or glass. Or bass. I’m not much of a lip reader.

Norris was on his way to his third quality start and the 13th by the rotation in 36 games before Kinsler took him deep. Norris’ previous high in pitches this season was 105 (twice).

By going 7 2/3 innings, Norris turned in his longest start since May 8, 2013 against the Angels.

Update: Game over. The Orioles have dropped two straight games with tonight’s 4-1 loss to the Tigers before 24,517 at Camden Yards.

Guilmet retired all four batters he faced.
