It now appears that It now appears that Dylan Bundy’s next start will still be with the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds and it could come this Sunday, and not Saturday as originally scheduled.
The Shorebirds were rained out last night and now some pitchers, Bundy included, could have their next starts pushed back a day. This would allow for the starters there to get an extra day of rest and continue with two bullpen sessions between starts which is what they have been going with due to Delmarva’s six-man rotation.
There remains an outside shot that Bundy could get promoted before this weekend, but now it is looking more likely that any move to possibly Single-A Frederick would not come until after this next start.
Bundy has made eight starts for Delmarva and is 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00. Over 30 innings, he has allowed just five hits and two unearned runs with two walks and 40 strikeouts. Opponent batters are hitting just .053 against him.
Delmarva is scheduled to host Greensboro on Sunday at 7:05 p.m. at Perdue Stadium.
