Brian Roberts and Matt Wieters combined for seven RBI, and Vladimir Guerrero added a three-run home run as the Orioles evened the series with the win and improved to 7-9 on the year.
Minnesota starter Carl Pavano had given up just one run over 16 innings his last two starts, but the Orioles pounded him for eight runs over 4 2/3 innings. Pavano entered with a 5-3 record and 2.75 career ERA versus Baltimore.
Roberts had a two-run single to highlight a three-run third and Wieters produced a two-out, bases loaded double to score three in the fifth.
The Orioles picked up some key hits after going 2-for-20 with runners in scoring position over the last three games.
Winning pitcher Jake Arrieta pitched out of some trouble in holding Minnesota scoreless over six innings on four hits. The Twins went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position vs. the right-hander.
It was a big night on offense though for the team that had scored just ten runs over its previous four games and scored just seven runs total in the weekend series at Cleveland.
