Enns activated, today's Orioles lineup in Chicago

The Orioles filled the last opening on their 26-man roster this morning by activating left-hander Dietrich Enns. He’s in the bullpen for this afternoon’s game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Enns is wearing No. 71.

Today’s lineup has the same nine players but the order and positions are altered.

Jeremiah Jackson, who collected his first major league hit yesterday, is the right fielder instead of designated hitter, a role filled today by Tyler O’Neill. Mayo is batting sixth instead of seventh.

Dylan Carlson remains in center field, with Colton Cowser in left.

The Cubs ruined Trevor Rogers’ brilliant start yesterday in a 1-0 win. Rogers tossed an eight-inning complete game and lowered his ERA to 1.44.

Tomoyuki Sugano remained with the Orioles through the trade deadline. He’s trying to lower a 4.38 ERA and 1.330 WHIP in 20 starts.

Sugano has registered a quality start in two of his last three outings. He held the Rockies to one run over six innings and matched his season high with eight strikeouts.

The Cubs are sending All-Star left-hander Matthew Boyd to the mound. He’s 11-4 with a 2.47 ERA and 1.059 WHIP in 21 starts

Boyd didn’t allow a run in four of five starts before surrendering five over five innings Monday in Milwaukee. He’s 9-0 with a 1.95 ERA and 0.850 in 10 home games.

Boyd has made five career starts against the Orioles and posted a 6.20 ERA and 1.622 WHIP in 24 2/3 innings.

From STATS: Boyd is holding opponents to a .177 average against his fastballs since the start of June. Before last month, they were hitting .311.

The Cubs rank third in the majors with 571 runs scored, 158 home runs and a .766 OPS. Their .442 slugging percentage is second.
